5 Things to do in Sapperton This Weekend

If you’ve never had the chance to go by Sapperton, or if it’s just been a while, now is the perfect time to give the neighborhood a visit! Home of the Brewery District, Sapperton has a plethora of places to explore, from parks, to eateries, to shops! Here are some of the more prominent features that you can find in Sapperton.

 

Take a walk by the river

A good way to start off your day is by taking a refreshing walk by the water at Sapperton Landing. With greenery on one side and the flowing river on the other, this 1 Km path is lined with benches and is one of the loveliest features of the area.

Grab lunch

Whether you’re hungry from your walk or just want to have a lunch outing, the Brewery District has plenty of options available! You can stop by Brown’s Social House for a more formal meal, enjoy brunch and a beer at Bruncheria, or grab a pizza at Gino’s Restaurant. Relax at Sapperton park

A local favorite, Sapperton Park has an extensive playground that is every kid’s dream, along with a big fenced-off field that your pets would love to roam. Take an afternoon to stop by with the little ones or enjoy the greenery while you picnic in the park on a sunny day !

And of course, when you’re by the Brewery District, you simply have to take advantage of the local beer scene. Next time you’re in the area, make sure to stop by and try a locally brewed beer from Another Beer Co., or sample the extensive drink list (which also includes cocktails and wine) at Sapperton District Taphouse!

Take Up a New Hobby

Sapperton is a great place for the hobbyist. With specialty shops around every corner, this neighborhood has something fun for everyone!  East Columbia Street Records has a wide selection of records, CDs and tapes for the music enthusiast, Cap’s Bicycle Shop is the one-stop-shop for cyclists, and Barley’s Homebrewing Services is perfect for those looking to try their hand at home-brewed beer.
