Next to City Hall is a beautiful little park named Tipperary Park. This park located just next to Downtown New Westminster and provides the city with an little urban oasis from the busy city. Tipperary Park is also home to our very own local New West Farmers Market that runs every Thursday in the summer between May and October. An interesting historical fact about the park was that it was not supposed to be a park at all. New Westminster was the original capital of British Columbia and this park was supposed to be the location of our legislature building which is now prominently located in Victoria. Tipperary Park is a hidden gem in our city with an interesting history.
