Super Saturday – Sturgeon Survival!

February 27, 2021 @ 10:00 am - 4:00 pm

Free with standard admission

Taking place on the last Saturday of every month, Super Saturdays is a series of public programs geared towards family friendly activities that explore different features of the Fraser River, from its booming economy to its diverse ecosystem.

This month we’re headed underwater and taking a look at the largest fish that inhabit the Fraser River – White sturgeon! Known as the ‘ghosts of the Fraser’, these shy fish can live for decades and grow over six metres long, but have to face a LOT of dangers before they reach adulthood, from hungry salmon to water pollution and climate change.

Explore these challenges with us – and check out some REAL sturgeon specimens – at this month’s Super Saturday!

Learn how the White Sturgeon is so well-adapted for survival in the murky waters of the Fraser River.
Check out our specimen jars of baby sturgeon at different stages of their life cycle.
Face the dangers of the Fraser as a sturgeon in our survival board game!
Registration includes paid admission to the Centre.

COVID-19 safety protocols are in effect, so book your visit here: https://form.jotform.com/202256435733251
