The Q to Q Ferry launched last weekend in New West! So why not spend the day exploring both Q’s with these suggestions of things to do on each side!
New Westminster Quay
Fridays on Front from 5-8pm
The ferry’s Friday night service is extended to accommodate this weekly event on Front Street! Grab a beer & a bite to eat along Front St while listening to some live music.
Visit Steel and Oak Brewing
New West’s own craft brewery, Steel and Oak Brewing differentiates itself by focusing more on English and German style beers than the common West Coast style. Just a 10 minute walk from the dock, make sure to try their limited Kaffee Blond or one of their mainstays, the Royal City Ale.
Take a stroll to Westminster Pier Park
Westminster Pier Park has it all. Stop by the concession for a snack and refreshments, continue down towards the Urban Beach, stop and seal your love at the Love Locks, and even check out the public art installation WOW Westminster.
Satisfy your taste buds at the River Market
If you haven’t hit up the River Market for lunch, you’re missing out. Some of the best restaurants in New West can be found there, from Re-Up BBQ to Freebird Chicken, whichever of the 6 you choose will leave you more than satisfied. Don’t forget to grab some ice cream from Tre Galli Gelato on your way back!
Explore Port Royal
One of New Westminster’s hidden gems, Port Royal is a beautiful walk with nearly 2 KM of riverfront trails to explore. Take a stroll and see the Fraser River from a different view!
With nearly 80 plots of garden space, take some time to relax and surround yourself with tranquility.
Shop till you drop at Queensborough Landing
Catch a bus or ride your bike to New West’s biggest outdoor mall, Queensborough Landing. Filled with outlet stores, this is the perfect place to find deals on back to school clothes!
Feeling lucky? Try your hand at some poker or your favourite slot machine at Starlight Casino. While you’re there, grab a bite to eat and some drinks at Match Eatery and Pub.
