Locals Know is a weekly series that is produced by Tourism New West. If you would like to be a part of this, email your Locals Know tip to info@tourismnewwest.com. In this installment, we meet Stacey Cheverie who is the Manager of Corporate Communications for Century Group, a real estate development firm in New Westminster.
My family and I moved to New West in 2015 from East Vancouver, and we are still finding amazing new experiences in the area. From killer dining options, and wonderful family parks, to historical architecture, this community has so much to offer. We live in the Queens Park area, and our favourite thing to do with our two small kids is to walk the neighbourhood to check out the parks, and historical buildings. My kids love watching lacrosse or hockey in Queens Park Arena and finishing off a day at Anny’s Dairy Bar on 6th street for their famous maple twist cones.
Another great way to check out the cities architecture is the New Westminster Heritage House Tour. We have done it every year since 2013, and it is a fantastic walking tour of New Wests oldest homes and is such an interesting glimpse into our cities heritage.
Stacey Cheverie relocated to New Westminster from East Vancouver in 2015 with her husband and kids. They love exploring the area as a family and one of their favourite activities is checking out the historic homes and buildings in New Westminster. Don’t miss out on the New Westminster Heritage House Tour that celebrates its 40th Anniversary this May. Tickets go on sale in March.
