New West’s oldest district is on the rise. Home to the West’s first penitentiary and named after the Sappers (Royal Engineers) who surveyed the area in 1858, this historic neighbourhood has been reenergized by the emergence of classic arcades, pubs, eateries and a funky craft brewery.
